ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

If you’re an experienced welding inspector who understands the quality demands of semiconductor construction and process piping, we want to talk to you. As a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), you’ll lead welding and fabrication quality efforts across complex semiconductor projects, ensuring work meets project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations. You’ll serve as a technical resource to project teams, quality personnel, and craft professionals while helping drive right-first-time execution and continuous improvement. You’ll thrive in this role if you bring strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to build credibility across both field and fabrication environments.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
  • Develop and lead project-specific QA/QC programs for semiconductor construction, including process piping, utility systems, tool hook-ups, skids, and modular fabrication.

  • Oversee welding, fabrication, and piping inspections to verify compliance with approved procedures, drawings, specifications, cleanliness requirements, and client standards.

  • Inspect stainless steel process piping, orbital welding, high-purity tubing, and thermoplastic piping systems, including applicable fusion processes.

  • Review WPS, PQR, WPQ, welding and fusion qualifications, material traceability, inspection reports, and other quality documentation.

  • Coordinate NDE, boroscope inspections, weld mapping, pressure and leak testing, passivation, cleaning verification, and system turnover activities.

  • Maintain accurate quality records, turnover packages, weld and fusion logs, testing documentation, and other required project records.

  • Lead the identification, investigation, and resolution of non-conformances and corrective actions while driving continuous improvement.

  • Partner with project leadership, engineers, fabrication teams, craft personnel, and client representatives to proactively resolve quality issues and support project schedules.

  • Serve as a technical resource and mentor for quality personnel, inspectors, supervisors, and craft employees while supporting client audits and quality reviews.

YOU’RE READY FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE
  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required.

  • 7+ years of quality, welding inspection, fabrication, or construction experience, preferably in semiconductor or other highly regulated industrial environments.

  • Strong knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, AWS standards, SEMI standards, and project-specific quality requirements.

  • Experience with stainless steel process piping, orbital welding, high-purity systems, and thermoplastic piping/fusion.

  • Experience reviewing welding qualifications, material traceability, inspection documentation, and turnover packages.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, P&IDs, isometrics, specifications, and welding/fusion documentation.

  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across field, fabrication, and client teams.

  • Ability to work in active construction, fabrication, and cleanroom environments while maintaining safety, quality, and contamination-control requirements.
